And welcome to my kitchen! I’m the recipe creator, baker, photographer, and lucky taste-tester behind The Yellow Oven. I created this blog to share my love of modern, flavor-forward, and indulgent bakes. Here, I celebrate all things that come from sugar + butter + flour, along with some unexpected flavors like passion fruit, matcha, lavender, and more. I’m always looking to cultivate sweet memories with striking flavors, good music, and small comforts.
For me, baking is about the process just as much as the product. Creaming butter + sugar, kneading dough, whipping cream can be the best therapy! It doesn’t hurt that at the end you have made something unique and delicious. My hope is that you are inspired to bake something you see today, and that you absolutely love tasting and sharing it.
Along with being an avid home baker, I’m a speech-language pathologist by trade and boy mom to a rambunctious toddler. We reside in a sweet little 1920s bungalow in Raleigh with my husband and our wheaten terrier. Most of the time, you can find me in the kitchen smeared with butter and flour, building trains with my son, or sipping coffee/wine with the husband. I love this life I get to live.
And yes, I really have a yellow oven! Though we inherited it with this house, much like baking and motherhood, I couldn’t imagine life without it. It’s the happiest thing, and that’s why I named this blog for it.
I’m so happy you found your way here. Now let’s set the vibe with music and bake something special!
