Strawberries and Cream Cookies are my most recent cookie baby and I’m pretty proud of them! The star of the show is the strawberry milk crumb which tastes like strawberry milk/strawberry ice cream and makes the cookie dough the prettiest shade of pink. The cookies are chewy and fruity, and most of all, creamy AF. They are husband-approved and toddler-approved, so they are a treat who will please anyone in your home. WARNING: These cookies involve a 24 hour chilling of the dough, so plan ahead for these guys! It’s worth the wait.

Spiced Carrot Cake with Brown Butter Cream Cheese Frosting

Easter is almost here, bunnies have overtaken our yard (and eaten up all our herbs), and it’s time for carrot cake! This spiced carrot cake was born out of a custom local order for a carrot birthday cake. I always felt a little icky about carrot cake–all the chunky fruit and pineapple freak me out to be completely honest, but I always liked the warm and robust flavor of mixed spices in the batter. Here’s my take on carrot cake–not so traditional, but tasty and comforting. Notes of ginger and chai spice ring through the moist cake and the browned butter in the frosting is just *chef’s kiss*. I think you’ll like this one.

Yes, this is another passion fruit recipe. I can’t stop, won’t stop okay!!! This one was actually inspired by a custom order for pound cake, but make it passion fruit. Here’s my answer. This Passion Fruit Vanilla Bean Pound cake is dense with the perfect amount of passion fruit flavor. First you make a solid vanilla bean pound cake with BOTH vanilla extract and paste for double the vanilla flavor. Then you douse it in a simple passion fruit syrup that seeps in juuuust a little to flavor the cake without it getting too soggy. Then it’s cut and serve. Yum, I can not get enough of this stuff!

Easy Cardamom Milk Bread

The details

Easy Cardamom Milk Bread is made in the spirit of traditional Japanese Shokupan, with a milky and enriched dough which rises into a happy little pillow. The dough is divided, rolled up, and baked in a loaf pan. The result is a lightly sweetened, ever-so-fluffy bread, delicately flavored with warm cardamom. When it’s done, creates three mini loaves which you can pull apart in a very satisfying manner (see below pic for proof). It is so easy, no fuss, and uses ingredients you likely already have in your pantry.

I love to eat this milk bread on its own, warm out of the oven. It’s also great with honey cinnamon butter (2 tbsp salted butter, 1/2 tbsp honey, 1 tsp cinnamon mushed together) or toasted to make THE world’s greatest cinnamon toast. Everyone in my house has become addicted to this milk bread, and soon you will be too!
